Connect through your MNSP
Connect through an Acumera MNSP
Coordinate an Acumera backoffice connection with provider-issued facts and a scheduled interruption window when required.
Purpose
Use this guide to identify the Acumera box, connect the approved Windows computer, and check the store’s exact POS address.
Before you start
- Approved Windows computer with Ethernet or a compatible adapter
- Cat 5e or Cat 6 cable routed safely to the approved store-network connection
- Unmanaged switch only when Acumera permits it
- Acumera account or site details, the approved topology, the provider-issued XML Gateway address, and approved setup details
1. Confirm the Acumera box

Acumera may provision the backoffice connection through the same approved router used by its appliance rather than through a universal numbered port. Ask Acumera where this computer should connect and whether an occupied router port may be shared.
Provide Acumera only the requested facts from the approved computer. If another cloud backoffice product is present, tell Acumera so the new Advantage connection is additive rather than replacing the existing one.
2. Connect the cable
Connect only after Acumera confirms the router or network port. If it is occupied, leave its cable in place until Acumera approves a switch and the cable layout.
What connects to what
- The approved Windows computer connects to the Ethernet cable, directly or through its compatible adapter.
- That cable connects to the exact router or network port Acumera confirms for the store.
- If Acumera approves a switch, the confirmed router connection feeds the switch and only approved devices connect to it.
- The Acumera appliance and all existing POS, fuel, and payment cables stay where they are.
3. Check the POS connection
Choose only the POS type confirmed for this store. Do not try both.
Verifone Commander
This check applies only to a Verifone register served by Commander. Open the standard https://192.168.31.11/ConfigClient.html address or the exact store-specific ConfigClient address confirmed for this location.

Gilbarco Passport
Use the exact XML Gateway address Acumera issued for this store. It may differ from the standard \\10.5.48.2 Passport address.

If the exact address fails, stop and ask Acumera or Advantage support to re-confirm the store-specific topology and XML Gateway. Do not substitute the Windows default gateway for the XML Gateway or try neighboring addresses.
What success means
Seeing Control Center or XMLGateway proves only that the computer can reach the POS connection. It does not prove that the Agent is installed, fresh data is flowing, Shift Console is activated, or register writes are ready.
What Advantage support handles
When provider-specific Windows settings are required, authorized Advantage support applies only reviewed Acumera-approved facts. Customers are not asked to use a shell, run probes or scans, or guess network values. Support preserves the computer’s current network state, validates only the declared POS endpoint, and restores the prior state if validation fails. Support does not reboot Acumera equipment or replace another backoffice connection.
